Did you buy something pre-fab or make it yourself?

Submitted By crazyprotein

View 1030 Answers

Cowgirl. Easiest costume for me to do.

Why is it so easy for me? Well, let's think: what all do you need for a cowgirl? cowboy boots: a little dirty from riding, but check; miniskirt: check; plaid shirt: check; cowboy hat: finally getting use out of that $80 hat Mom got me for competing which I NEVER even wore, check.

Then, go to Walmart and grab some fake guns, find some stupid fucking rope, and a dollar pony-head-on-a-stick from Dollar General. Fake eyelashes, fake nails, and volia!

As for coordinating costumes with a friend or partner...considering the majority of my friends and my boyfriend are two to three hours away, I'm most likely NOT coordinating with anyone, on purpose or on accident.

KAMELOT. UGH I'd give my right arm to see them live, and both arms to be front row. Hell, if someone gave me backstage passes to meet them, they could just kill me right after the show/meeting them because my life would be complete.

As for traveling to a different city/state to see them, most likely if they'd come back to the USA next time they tour I'd have to - they've never come to Pittsburgh. Hell, I'd be willing to go to Europe to see them, if I had the money and time, that is.

Considering I've been spending thousands upon thousands of dollars the past 4 1/2 years to obtain a degree in Environmental Studies at a College which is known for their drive towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly campus, I'd say that I think about sustainability issues, and practice environment-saving techniques, almost every day.

But, just to not sound like a total uppity douche who is full of themselves because they are going for an Enviornmental degree, I'll list some of the things I've done:

1. Use nothing but CFL instead of incandescent bulbs.
2. Try to compost as much as I can (now that the vermicomposter which me and two other students built is off-campus at the Field Station, however, its become much more difficult).
3. Slowly becoming a vegetarian. I'm going to try and cut chicken out of my diet in the next few months.
4. Recycle EVERYTHING I can.
5. Make my own cleaning supplies. Less harmful chemicals = better for the earth. I also use eco-friendly cleaning supplies if I absolutely HAVE to purchase them.

My college is currently going green; we have one LEED Certified building and another one on the way. By 2012 we hope to be purchasing REC's for 75% of our energy needs.

The building I'm interning in for the summer is also LEED Certified.

Only place that isn't green is my home, thanks to my relatives being of another era where wastefulness was okay. I've been trying to get everyone to go green for several years now but, alas, they don't seem to care much. Nonetheless, I do what I can to stay as green as possible, even if it means being harassed by my family for my alternative views.

    <lj:music>Bush // Swallowed</lj:music>

This is a post for any n00bs to my LJ. Listed below are all the things that are important in my life at the present time.

If you are considering friending me, check out this post before you do - if we have some things in common it'd make our LJ friendship easier and more fun! And if you are already friends with me, check back here as you please to see if there are any changes in my life!

My name is Nicole (or Nikki), most people call me Siv. I'm from Pittsburgh and am a die hard Steelers/Pens fan. I'm 22, a recent college grad. I attended Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA, majoring in Environmental Studies with focus in Politics and Anthropology.

MOST RECENT PICTURE(S) OF ME:

-me on Halloween

I absolutely love body mods. I've currently got 13 piercings (8 in my ear lobes, an industrial (2 piercings), helix, tragus, and rook) and 3 tattoos (see below):

I currently have two pets: a parakeet named Prius and a Holland Lop named Sergei. I've never liked kids, and will never have any, unless they walk on all fours, are covered in fur, either bark, meow, neigh, moo, or make another animal sound, did not pop out of my vagina, and only live between 5-30 years (exception would be a larger breed of parrot; them bastards will still be alive once I'm rotting in the dirt!). My family is Carpatho-Rusyn. I have a great respect for my ethnic heritage. I was raised as a Byzantine Catholic but currently consider myself to be agnostic. I am a registered Democrat, but I think both parties are corrupt. I don't vote for the party - I vote for the enviornment.

I like it when people are happy, especially if they are happy because of me. I love pictures (either viewing or taking) of landscapes and animals. I really like being outdoors. I love anything vintage or retro. I love art. I'm big on horror movies, as well as drama and action. I wish I could sing and draw well. I love to learn. I used to ride Western horseback, and Icompeted in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association.

I have a tendency to fangirl. It is not as bad as it once was, but I still have several fandoms which I'd kill over. These include Star Wars, Devil May Cry (games and anime), LOST, the SAW movie series, Ouran High School Host Club, Coyote Ragtime Show, Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2, Stephen King novels, and of course the Pittsburgh Steelers/Penguins. Some of my newer fandoms include Death Note, Flashforward, Vampire Knight, and Resident Evil 4. I *really* like music; top favorite bands include Disturbed, Kamelot, Orgy, Sevendust, Godsmack, and Metallica.

Oh yeah, I'm a total gamer. Love love LOVE almost any kind of video game. I refuse to play WoW, though, because I'm too cheap and the graphics just turn me off. I love Guild Wars, my guild mates are totally kick ass.

My LJ is filled with a lot about my day and feelings. Sometimes I'll rant and whine and cry, other times I'll bitch and cuss and vent. I swear a great deal so if you are offended, don't bother friending me. I sometimes talk about subjects which some individuals may not want to read about; these are, for the most part, under an LJ-cut with a disclaimer stating that they contain things which may be TMI for some people. Read them at your own risk, and don't bitch at me if you read it and didn't want to. I didn't force you to read it.

One thing I hate more than anything is when people chastise me for how I act or what I believe. If you do not have the same opinions as I do, you may tell me so, but please do not act as if your opinion is the only true answer. Doing so will cause immediate expulsion from my LJ (after a great deal of cussing).

Other than that, enjoy your stay at my LJ!

♥ Siv
